Key Responsibilities:
- Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring the kitchen remains hygienic and orderly.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas, following health and safety regulations.
- Assist in basic meal preparation, such as peeling, chopping, and washing vegetables, as directed by the catering team.
- Help set up dining areas and deliver meals to residents, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain proper storage conditions when handling food.
- Keep trash and recycling areas clean and adhere to waste disposal guidelines.
- Assist with stock control and inventory management, ensuring proper storage of supplies.
- Work closely with the catering team to maintain kitchen efficiency and organization.
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a kitchen domestic or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- High standards of hygiene and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleanliness and food safety regulations.
- Physical stamina to handle tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
