JEDDAH: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is hosting the four-day Hajj and Umrah Services Conference & Exhibition 2024 under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The event commenced on Monday evening with an opening ceremony held at Jeddah’s prestigious Superdome, a state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of 35,000 seats.
The ceremony saw the attendance of ministers, ambassadors, consuls from various global locations, and representatives from over 200 entities belonging to both private and public companies operating in the Hajj and Umrah sector.
Scheduled from January 8 to January 11, 2024, at the Jeddah Super Dome, this event stands as the largest of its kind, dedicated to enhancing the sacred pilgrimage experience. Pilgrims and participants are invited to be part of this remarkable occasion, where discussions and innovations in the field of pilgrimage services are anticipated.
Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah, underscored the significance, objectives, and aims of the annual Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition in his inaugural address. Addressing commercial aspects and the rising costs associated with Hajj and Umrah, he reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to providing the best facilities for pilgrims.
During the opening session, two agreements were signed between Saudi authorities to enhance cooperation in Hajj and Umrah affairs. Additionally, sponsor companies of the conference and exhibition were honored with prizes.
Over the course of the four-day conference, various sessions, seminars, workshops, and panel discussions will take place, covering diverse subjects. This includes discussions on the role of media in disseminating annual Hajj rituals through effective collaboration and partnerships among global media entities.
